Welcome to the Business Education Department! We offer the following courses:

Entrepreneurship and Marketing 9 and 10

• Students are introduced to the world of business with a focus on entrepreneurship and marketing.
• Students will be introduced to Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software.

Accounting 11 and 12

• Students will gain a great foundation of knowledge to prepare them for first year College and University Accounting courses.
• In Accounting 11 students will gain competency in Microsoft Excel software.
• In Accounting 12 students will gain competency in Sage 50 Accounting software.

Marketing 11

• Students will learn marketing concepts to prepare them for an entry level College or University Marketing course.
• Students will learn how to use Adobe Creative Suite software such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks, and InDesign to create logos, promotions, and packaging.
• Students in Marketing 12 have the opportunity to earn a scholarship through the design, marketing, and sales of school clothing.

Business Computer Applications 12

• Students will improve their overall computer literacy and gain competency in Microsoft Office Programs, including: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher.
• Students will be introduced to Web 2.0 software such as Prezi and Google Docs.
• Student will improve their keyboarding accuracy and speed through daily practice.

Economics 12

• Students will gain a foundation of knowledge that will prepare them for both microeconomics and macroeconomics courses in University.
• Students will explore the effects economic activity on our society, the nation, and the global community.
• Students gain an understanding of the principles behind government and social policies.
• Students will learn how the factors of supply and demand affect prices.
• Students planning to undertake advance studies in business will find this an essential course to understanding of how government, labour, and business interact.
